Everyday Inspirational Jewelry

I am Shannon Orr and I have been creating unique custom beaded jewelry for over a decade. I spent my younger years growing up in Scottsdale, Arizona; a city full of southwest influences, great architecture, Mexican dishes, and amazing sunsets.

I love the sparkle and beauty of beads and find myself drawn to thier shine. I believe personal style is defined by the accents and accessories you love, it brings confidence and radience to your face.  I love creating easy to wear jewelry knowing it is securely around my neck and it really makes me happy to see how it makes others feel as well to wear my art.

I have a degree in Architecture from the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona. I believe this background has helped me to pay attention to detail, connections, and feel. Architecture as well as jewelry is very much a feeling. My education taught me there is more than one way to view the world and any problem. Other interests and experiences of mine include, art, industrial design, theatre costume design, as well as wearable art.

My favorite inspirations are the clothing and preformances of Audry Hepburn, Grace Kelly, and Edith Head on screen. I loves the style of the early 1950s through 1960s and revel in old movie musicals. Also, I love the details brought to architecture and design by Frank Lloyd Wright, Louis Kahn, Steven Holl and Santiago Calatrava.

Dishes are also another inspiration, especially milk glass and LuRay dishware in Sea Green. Currently, my favorite reading material are the publications of Dwell and Real Simple. Favorite engaging novels Harry Potter, the Twilight series, and Children of the Promise.

Currently, I live in New Hampshire with my husband and son.
